Rain Doesn’t Dampen Spirits at WBCC Fundraiser

Despite showers throughout the day, the bikers for the 6th Annual Breast Cancer Ride managed to ride in between raindrops and stay pretty dry, to organizer Debbie Hausch’s relief. Debbie has run the WBCC benefit for six years, inspired by women she knows who have battled breast cancer, including an aunt.

“I start working on it in November,” she said, admitting the commitment it takes to organize the “poker run” and motorcycle ride. “These are my friends who come out for this no matter what.” Debbie was assisted by about 20 volunteers throughout the day.

Raffle baskets, prizes, two meals and music were on the agenda for the ride in the West Allis area, ending at Kochanski’s Concertina Beer Hall at 1920 South 37th Street in Milwaukee with a band and a beautifully remodeled outdoor beer garden.

Debbie said that she chose the WBCC to receive the donations because of its focus on Wisconsin.
